Week Three Recap

On January 7th, 2023 the Arena Lacrosse League West Women's held their third weekend of games at the Langley Field House; on the unceeded Traditional Territory of the Kwantlen, Katzie, Semiahmoo, and Matsqui First Nations.

To help support an event being hosted by the Urban Native Youth Association we are collecting gently used clothes, shoes and accessories. The first game was between the Flying Squirrels vs the Deer, that took place at 1:00 pm. Both teams came with high intensity and determination. Flying Squirrels goal tender #01 Dorothy Paul had an impressive 30 saves. Deer goal tender #00 Julie Spooner came out with 29 saves. Deer defeated the Flying Squirrels 14 to 10. 

Flying Squirrels point scorers were #10 Michela Patterson with 2 goals and 1 assist; #12 Megan Stewart with 2 goal and 4 assists; #16 Harlowe Steele with 2 goals and 3 assists; and #17 Ashley Bull with 4 goals and 3 assists. 

Deer point scorers were # 2 Delaney Davidson with 3 goalies; #5 Mackenzie Rolland with 2 assists; #3 Shonly Wallace with 6 goals and 2 assists; #11 Ashleigh Lesser with 1 goal and 1 assist; #16 Macie Beck-Boreson with 1 goal; #17 Garret Atkins with 1 assist; #19 Gaby Pol with 1 assist; and #20 Kaitlin McDonnell with 2 assist.

The second game was between Team Bats vs Team Turtles, that took place at 2:40 pm. Both teams battled it out and made for an exciting game to watch, leaving fans on their toes. Team Bats goal tenders #01 Ella Friesen and #00 Annika McDonald came out with a combination of 30 saves. Team Turtles goal tender #00 Ryleigh Sadler and #01 Rhyan Holmes had a combination of 29 saves. Both teams goal tenders played a phenomenal game. In the end Turtles defeated the Bats 7 to 6. 

Bats point scorers were #3 Devyn Hartley with 1 assist; #4 Naomi Walser with 1 assist; #6 Rory Rothine with 2 goals; #8 Mady Nugent with 1 goal; #11 Shonly Wallace with 1 goal; #13 Nat Wood with 1 assist; #14 Carlie Robinson with 1 goal and 1 assist; #19 Adrainna Santucci with 1 goal; and #19 Amanda Lovell with 1 assist.

Turtles point scorers were #7 Morgan Sherley with 1 goal and 1 assist; #8 Olivia Ng with 1 goal; #12 Megan Kinna with 3 goals and 3 assists; #14 Amber Haley with 1 goal; #18 Megan Ewald with 1 goal and 1 assist.

The third game was between Team Bears vs Team Hawks, that took place at 4:25 pm. Both teams played well and faught hard. Team Bears goal tender #00 Ella Friesen came up with 32 saves. Team Hawks goal tender #00 Mady Morrison had 20 saves. In the end the Bears defeated the Hawks 12 to 5. 

Bears point scorers were #3 Christel Blesch with 1 goal and 4 assists; #5 Mizaki Igarasgi had 1 goal; # 6 Jennifer Fernandes had 1 assist; #7 Nicole Pahnke had 2 assists; #8 Delaney Davidson had 8 goales; #9 Jordan Bolam had 1 assist; #10 Zola Le Donne had 1 assist; #14 Saskia Anger had 1 assist; #15 Avery Gert had 1 goal; #18 Kelsey Cuje had 1 goal; and #20 Deb Phillips had 1 assist. 

Hawks point scorers were #2 Tiana Bikic with 1 goal and 1 assist; #5 Chanelle Prestia with 1 goal; #6 Alana Taylor with 1 goal and 3 assists; #13 Andee Jackson with 1 assist; #14 Ruby Charney with 1 goal; #16 Rylee Mackenzie with 1 assist; #18 Kameko Hall with 1 assist; and #19 Sienna Prestia with 1 goal.
