Week 11 Sees the First Two OT Games in League Historty
Week 11 of the Arena Lacrosse League is in the books and the Oshawa Outlaws took both games of the weekend to return to the win column after 3 consecutive losses. Saturday in Oshawa, the Outlaws beat the Paris RiverWolves 10-7 in a tight defensive battle with Lukas Coote earning the 1st Star. Sunday at Memorial Centre in Peterborough, the Outlaws battled back from two 5 goal deficits to defeat the Toronto Monarchs 13-12 in OT with TJ Saunders being the hero on the day with a goal one minute into the extra frame. -
Six Nations Snipers split their weekend games, winning big in Peterborough Sunday 18-7 over the Timbermen after losing a heartbreaker in OT Saturday night at home against the St. Catharines ShockWave. The ShockWave's Josh Becker scored with under 2 seconds left in the game to provide the Arena Lacrosse League with it's first Overtime game in its short history. Jeff Wittig used his size and determination to get underneath to the net and score the winning goal 34 seconds into the 5th period.
The Toronto Monarchs split their games as well blasting the Timbermen 15-8 at the Tribute Communities Centre and as mentioned losing 13-12 in OT to the Oshawa Outlaws. Steve Fryer continues his adjustment to the ALL providing stellar goaltending in both Monarchs games.
