THE BRAMPTON EXPRESS ADVANCE PAST THE PETERBOROUGH TIMBERMEN IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS

Last night, the Brampton Express and the Peterborough Timbermen kicked off the 2024 ALL East Playoffs.

Both teams played with high energy to the buzzer, resulting in a high-action and fast-paced game. The Express emerged victorious in a 16 – 12 win against the Timbermen, moving them into the next round of the playoffs.

Brampton’s Lucas Nagy and Jeff Wittig, and Peterborough’s Cam Milligan were the three stars of the night.

RECAP –

Scoring started right away in the first quarter. Skkylar Thomas secured the first goal for the Timbermen within the opening minute and Sam Dramnitzke scored for the Express just over two minutes later. This repetition remained for the remainder of the period, with both teams following each other’s goals with their own. By the end of the quarter, the game was tied 3 – 3.

While this pattern carried into the next period for the first goals, Brampton created a three-point gap after outscoring Peterborough four to one in nine minutes. Going into the halftime break, the Express were up 8 – 5.

Brampton kept the momentum going, starting the third quarter with a four-goal run, but Peterborough didn’t back down. The Timbermen scored back-to-back in periods last three minutes, bringing the game to 7 – 12, and they continued their run into the closing quarter.

Peterborough brought their scoring streak to five after opening the quarter with a three-goal run. This brought them within two points of tying the game, but the Express didn’t surrender the lead. They scored two consecutive goals, increasing the lead again, but the Timbermen brought it back to a two-goal game again about three minutes later.

To secure the win, Curtis Ward and Jonah Boehm scored the final two goals of the game for Brampton, putting the Express up 16 – 12 at the end.
