The Arena Lacrosse League East Game Recaps - Week 3

The Arena Lacrosse League East had four big match-ups for their week 2 schedule.
Saturday at the Childrens Arena in Oshawa, Ontario:
Early Game
Oshawa Outlaws 18 Peterborough Timbermen 22
A back and forth game saw the teams trade goals throughout the first quarter. The second quarter saw Peterborough get in front to stay. Scoring six of the next seven goals, led by Aaron Woods with three, the Timbermen would break the game open.
Another five goal run in the third led by Hawi Francis had Peterborough in charge 20-12 headed to the fourth quarter. Oshawa put together a strong comeback in the fourth scoring six times. Led by Josh Gilray and Zach Terry with a pair each, the Outlaws would bring the game closer, but the hole was just too deep to climb out of. Peterborough wins 22-18.
The Timbermen were lad by Aaron Woods (6g,6a), Hawi Francis (4g,4a), Cam Milligan (2g,6a), and Zach Thompson (2g,2a). Geoff McNulty (1g,4a) was the facilitator.
For Oshawa Gareth Haigh (4g,3a), Josh Gilray (3g,2a), Zach Terry (2g,3a), Jake Gilmour (2g,1a), and Ryan Haigh (2g,0a) led the way. John St. John (1g,8a), and Reed Chamberlain (0g,4a) were the facilitators.

Late Game
Brampton Express 14 Whitby Steelhawks 13 in Overtime.
Brampton looked good off the start, getting out to an early 3-0 lead. Owen Orpana countered with a pair for Whitby to bring them within one. Goals from Carter Coffey and Zach Sunderland re-established the Brampton three goal lead, but Orpana's third of the period tightened the game after one. Orpana continued his big game with a pair in the second to lead the Steelhawks to an 8-7 lead at the half.
The third quarter saw defenses tighten up, only allowing a combined four goals. The Express scored three of them to take a 10-9 lead. The fourth saw Whitby come to life early with three quick goals. Led by Parker Pipher, the Steelhawks went ahead 12-10, but Brampton would get a pair inside a minute to tie the game once again. As the quarter drew to a close, Whitby took the lead once again. Quinn Hyland converted a Rowan Kelly pass with just 2:40 remaining. In the waning moments, while killing a penalty, and with the goalie on the bench, Jeremy Searle converted a Pent Eistrat feed with just 0:20 seconds remaining to send this game to overtime.
Overtime lasted just under 4:00 minutes when Pent Eistrat sent the Express to the winner's circle with a blast off a Nathan Jones feed. Brampton wins sn entertaining game 14-13.

Sunday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Haggersville, Ontario:
Early Game
Toronto Monarchs 8 Ohsweken Bears 12
The Bears took charge from the start, getting out to a 5-0 lead in the first with five different scorers. While Jordan Dance got Toronto closer with a pair of goals in the second quarter, Josh Sanchez, Xander De La Ronde, and Lucas Beaver helped Ohsweken take a 10-3 lead to halftime.
The Monarchs put together a strong third quarter led by Jordan Dance, and Tanner Buck, tightening the game to 12-7, however, the fourth saw defenses tighten up. The only goal yielded was to Lucas Hucal of the Monarchs. Sam Forbes was spectacular in net for Ohsweken in the quarter, helping the Bears to a 12-8 victory.
Josh Sanchez (4g,3a), Dante Kulas (2g,4a), and Xander De La Ronde (2g,1a) led the Bears, with Eddie Renaud (1g,6a) as the facilitator.
Jordan Dance (4g,0a), Tanner Buck (1g,2a), Ty Jesso (1g,2a), Lucas Hucal (1g,1a), and Riley Ford (1g,0a) scored for the Monarchs.

Late Game
Paris RiverWolves 17 Six Nations Snipers 24
It looked to be another day of the same for the Six Nations Snipers, with a strong first quarter, getting out to a 5-3 lead. Paris fought back with a nine goal second led by Carson Moyer, taking a 12-10 lead to the half.
What was different in this game, was the second half for the Snipers. Jordan Goddard and Wes Whitlow led a nine goal attack that put Six Nations in control of the game. The fourth quarter saw the defenses tighten up, but the Snipers still potted five goals, led by Chayton King. Six Nations wins convincingly, 24-17.
Jordan Goddard (5g,5a), Chayton King (3g,6a), and Wes Whitlow (3g,4a) led the Snipers attack, with Jeremy Bomberry (3g,8a) as the facilitator.
Carson Moyer (7g,6a), Dawson Brown (4g,2a), and Koichi Nakamura (4g,1a) led the way for Paris. Caiden Merritt (1g,8a) was the facilitator.
