The ALL Unveils Playoff Format

The Arena Lacrosse League (ALL) announced today their 2017 Playoff Format that will see all 6 teams with a chance to win the inaugural ALL Cup Sunday April 9th in Oshawa.

As first announced, the league will host a Final Four Weekend at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, with Semi-Finals Saturday April 8th and the ALL Cup Sunday April 9th. 

Today, League President Paul St. John announced the addition of Quarter-Finals Friday, that will see 4 teams battle for the right to join the top two regular season teams in the Final Four. The Quarter-Finals will be played in venues determined by the 3rd and 4th seeds, currently the Toronto Monarchs (TRAC in Oakville) and the St. Catharines ShockWave (ILA in Hagersville) hold those spots.

"The league took a long and hard look at this first season and how we could reward each team, it's management staff and of course the players, each of whom have provided us with terrific highly skilled lacrosse throughout the year as we wind down with a week to go in the regular season" stated St. John.

"We decided to wait until this week to announce as we didn't want to affect the efforts of the teams, they have provided terrific lacrosse from the opening Showcase Weekend in January and we didn't want a let down as fans of the game deserve high level lacrosse each and every night and to date we firmly believe the Arena Lacrosse League has provided that." St. John said. "We have one more weekend to go in the regular season to firm up final rankings and then for one weekend the Arena Lacrosse League will take the local lacrosse spotlight and crown it's first Champion."

Lance Winn, League Vice-President of Media and Promotions added, "this gives our fan base two more highly contested games to watch Friday April 7th and we anticipate that both games will be memorable. Speaking with each General Manager, they all support the format, realizing that for one year, our first, each team should participate."

Winn also announced that fans can purchase a Junior ALL Fundraiser Raffle ticket from players of the 6 ALL teams and utilize a Free Adult Final Four ticket (on the back of the raffle ticket) for free admittance in one of the Quarter-Final Friday games or one of the Final Four games. Draw date is this coming Sunday April 2.
