OUTLAWS MOVE TO THE SECOND ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS AFTER A HOME WIN

by Andre Spence

Earlier today, the Oshawa Outlaws squared off against the Six Nation Snipers in the first round of the playoffs. Despite the Snipers' efforts to cause an upset, the Outlaws dominated the game, ultimately winning 23 - 9 in their home arena. With this victory, Oshawa now looks forward to the next round of the playoffs next weekend.

RECAP –

The opening quarter saw a quick start with the Snipers scoring within two minutes, followed by a goal from the Outlaws two minutes later. Vern Hill then led a three-goal run for Six Nations, and although Oshawa managed a two-goal run of their own, the Snipers ended the quarter up 4 - 3.

However, this was the last time Six Nations held the lead. Josh Gilray started the scoring for the second period, and the Outlaws followed with nine more goals while holding the Snipers to just one. By halftime, Oshawa had a significant lead of 12 - 5.

The Outlaws carried this momentum into the third quarter, scoring five goals while the Snipers managed to score only two. Going into the final quarter, Oshawa held a commanding 10-point lead of 17 - 7.

The last period continued in the same vein, with Gareth Haigh scoring within the first 24 seconds and Geoff McNulty continuing the scoring for Oshawa. Although Six Nations managed to score two goals, one from Danton Miller and the other from Josh Miller, it was not enough to balance out the game. Ultimately, the Outlaws finished the game with a 14-goal win, securing their place in the second round of the playoffs.
