John St. John Named 2024 ALL East Most Valuable Player

by Lance Winn

John St. John of the Oshawa Outlaws has been named the Arena Lacrosse League East Division 2024 Most Valuable Player. For St. John, this is the second time this honour has been bestowed on him, with St. John also capturing the Award in 2019.

St. John who attained his 500th career ALL point midway through the 2024 season moved into a leadership role with the Outlaws this past season, becoming an Assistant Captain and taking on a mentor type role, guiding many of the Outlaws rookies as they got their feet wet in the ALL.

"John St. John is like a fine bottle of whiskey" stated Outlaws General Manager and Head Coach Joe Hiltz "As Johnny ages, he just keeps getting better. At age 29 he continues to find another level in his game. This year we gave Johnny an A on his jersey and he stepped up into that leadership role at practice and in the dressing room" Hiltz continued. "But his true leadership value is his play on the floor. When our team needed a big play he seemed to make it happen whether it was a big offensive play or being the first guy back to break up a transition run against. He was a huge inspiration to his teammates and was very instrumental in elevating their game, he is our MVP and we are happy the league and his peers recognizes this in naming him the league MVP. On behalf of the Oshawa Outlaws, our coaching staff and players, we congratulate Johnny."

St. John was also named to the 1st ALL All-Star Team. St. John will receive a Commemorative Ring courtesy of the ALL and Baron Rings, the official ring supplier of the Arena Lacrosse League. On behalf of the ALL and Baron Rings, we congratulate John on his accomplishment.
