Gage Board Named 2023 ALL East Most Valuable Player

The Arena Lacrosse League East Division wraps up their 2023 Award announcements with the naming of the Most Valuable Player award. Taking home that honour is Brampton Express Transition Specialist Gage Board. Board, the Express Captain was instrumental in leading Brampton to an 11 and 3 record as well as the ALL East Cup final in their inaugural ALL season.

“When one of our original Arena Lacrosse League players wins our most prestigious individual award it is so fulfilling to our league and me personally stated ALL President Paul St. John. “Gage has been a true professional from our inception as an original Oshawa Outlaw and then joining the expansion Express prior to this past season. He continues to perform at a high level and has been a true inspiration to our younger players looking for guidance, he is a perfect role model for the ALL and to see him lead the Express at both ends of the floor having a career year is just fantastic” St. John added.

Brampton Express General Manager and Head Coach Jeff Dowling had this to share “I had to the enjoyment of coaching Gage with the Outlaws and when I was offered the role of GM and Head Coach with the Express, Gage was high on my priority list to attempt to acquire. When Outlaws GM Joe Hiltz informed me that Gage was looking to play closer to home, we swung a deal. That trade turned out to be very beneficial to everyone involved. When our team staff discussed our roster we immediately agreed that Gage was to be our first Captain, from there Gage just did everything we asked and more. He was our leader from day 1, he practiced hard and played hard, he played both ends of the floor and put up career numbers in doing so. Our young players looked up to Gage and our veterans complimented his leadership skills providing us the opportunity to put together an outstanding first season. We are proud of Gage and extremely happy that he has been recognized by his peers for his outstanding season.”

Congratulations to Gage on behalf of the Arena Lacrosse League and Baron Rings, the Official Ring Supplier of the ALL. Baron Rings and the ALL East will honour Gage with a Commemorative Ring to signify his accomplishment as the recipient of the 2023 ALL East Most Valuable Player award.
