It was a record setting day for the Shooting Eagles.

The Shooting Eagles found the back of the net 30 teams – bettering the previous mark of 29 – as they hammered the Black Fish 30-13 on Sunday afternoon at Langley Events Centre in Arena Lacrosse League West Division action.

“Scoring 30 is nice, new little stamp on the resume for the boys,” admitted Mark Yingling, following his four-goal, eight-point performance.

Five players scored three or more goals, led by Dylan Lacroix’s sock-trick while both Lacroix and Keegan Kozack (2-8) had 10-point games.

Declan Fitzpatrick was right behind with five goals and nine points while Garret Winter scored four times and set up three others.

Doug Porter (3-1), Gordon Walls-Good (2-4) and Rhys Blake (2-1) each had multi-goal games, while Lucas Parsons-Quintiao and Tysen Nielsen rounded out the scoring as the Eagles received 10 goals in transition.

“Being able to give the ball to anyone on the floor on O is a real advantage,” Yingling said. “(But) it is an unreal feeling knowing anyone on your team can score.”

Another big factor in the outcome was the Shooting Eagles power play which struck for six goals and is now operating at 77 percent efficiency on the season.

A one-goal game midway through the first quarter, the Shooting Eagles blew things wide open with a 5-1 run in a span of less than four minutes. Ahead 8-3 after a quarter, they stretched the lead to 16-7 at the half before dominating the final 30 minutes as well, 14-6.

The Eagles have defeated each of their divisional opponents (with the closest margin of victory at three goals) and lead the four-team league at 3-0.

The Black Fish fell to 0-3 with the loss.

Temeke7 Gottfriedsen’s hat trick led the Black Fish with Drew Andre (2-1) and Rhys Porteous both scoring twice. Ethan M’Lot (1-3), Xander Cabeca (1-2), Connor Watson (1-2), Kordell Primus, Ryan Jones and Cameron Ickert adding a goal apiece.

Both Black Fish goaltenders saw action with Ryan Downie making 33 saves on 57 shots while Reed Watson had 10 saves on 16 shots. Brody Harris stopped 34 of 47 shots for the victory.

Week 4: All four teams will be in action on Saturday, November 30 with the Grizzlies (1-2) against the Black Fish (0-3) at 1:00pm while the Shooting Eagles (3-0) take on the Sea Spray (2-1) at 4:00pm. Both games are at Langley Events Centre.
