Toronto Monarchs 12  Peterborough Timbermen 9.

The Toronto Monarchs used a dominant second-half push and a standout performance from Riley Ford to defeat the Peterborough Timbermen 12–9 to advance to the Semi-Finals next Saturday afternoon.

Toronto struck first, with Cohen Jennings opening the scoring, but Peterborough answered quickly as Jared Downey tied the game. The Monarchs regained control late in the first quarter with goals from Graydon Foulon and Matthew Kim, taking a 3–2 lead into the break after a buzzer-beater from Nathan Schultzkie kept the Timbermen close.

The second quarter belonged to Peterborough early. After Riley Ford extended Toronto’s lead, the Timbermen surged with three straight goals from Jack MacAlpine, Zach Thompson, and John St. John to take their first lead of the game at 5–4. Toronto responded in the final minute of the half, as Chris Harland capitalized on the power play before Ty Jesso scored with just seconds remaining to give the Monarchs a 6–5 advantage at halftime.

Toronto carried that momentum into the third quarter. Cody Inness struck on the power play, and despite Peterborough answering through Geoff McNulty, the Monarchs pulled away with a key run. Goals from Jayson Crawford, Riley Ford, and another late tally from Ford extended the lead to 10–7 heading into the fourth.

Peterborough refused to go away. John St. John and McNulty brought the Timbermen back within one at 10–9, setting up a tense final stretch. However, Toronto shut the door with timely offense, as Noah Kearney restored a two-goal cushion before Graydon Foulon added his second of the night to seal the 12–9 victory.

Six Nations Snipers 18 Ohsweken Bears 10

The Six Nations Snipers defeated the Ohsweken Bears 18–10 in playoff action Sunday afternoon, punching their ticket to the Semi-Finals next weekend.

Ohsweken came out flying, opening the scoring with back to back goals from Chris Attwood and Layne Smith to take an early 2–0 lead. However, that momentum was short lived as Six Nations responded emphatically. Led by Colton Armitage, the Snipers erupted for six of the next seven goals, including a pair of shorthanded markers, to seize a 6–3 lead after the first quarter.

The Snipers continued to apply pressure in the second, with Chayton King, Armitage, and Jeremy Bomberry all contributing to extend the lead. Despite goals from Layne Smith and Shane Halliwell to keep Ohsweken within striking distance, Six Nations carried a commanding 10–5 advantage into halftime.

The third quarter saw Ohsweken attempt a push, narrowing the gap to 12–8 behind strong efforts from Josh Sanchez and Weylon Abrams. But each time the Bears threatened, Six Nations had an answer, most notably from Armitage and Wes Whitlow, to maintain control.

In the fourth, the Snipers put the game on ice. Although Eddie Renaud and Owen Hill were able to score for Ohsweken, a late four goal run from the Snipers put the game out of reach.  Six Nations takes the decisive 18–10 victory.
