Arena Lacrosse League East Power Rankings - Week Six

by Gary Groob

1.  Oshawa Outlaws (5-1)

The Outlaws have been the most consistent team in the league.  Led by forward John St. John, and the stellar goaltending of Deacan Knott, the Outlaws had another lopsided victory this past weekend over Peterborough 12-2.

2.  Toronto Monarchs (4-2)

A very balanced attack beat the Express last Friday evening in Brampton.  The big test will come February 18th when they face the league leading Outlaws.

3.  Whitby Steelhawks (4-2)

A dominant victory over Six Nations Saturday afternoon has put the league on notice.  A two game win streak has this team on the rise in the league.

4.  Brampton Express (4-2)

This team started to gel quickly as an expansion team but has hit a small bump in the road recently with two consecutive losses.  Ryan Campbell, Zac Sunderland, and Gage Board have led a dominant offense to a +26 differential this season.  It won't be long before they get back in the win column.

5.  Paris RiverWolves (3-3)

After a rough start to the year, Paris has rhymed off wins in three of their last four games.  Led by Kyle Dawson and Marley Angus, there is a lot of upside to this young team.

6.  Six Nations Snipers (2-3)

Inconsistent play has hampered this squad this season.  A stellar victory over the Monarchs last week had them riding high, but a tough lopsided loss to Whitby on Saturday continued the inconsistent trend.  With the improvement of their special teams, their position in the rankings will improve.

7.  Ohsweken Bears (1-4)

A tough start to the year had the Bears 0-3 until they met Peterborough.  A strong showing against the Timbermen gave reason for optimism, but falling short this past weekend to Paris showed they still have a journey in front of them.

8.  Peterborough Timbermen (0-6)

This team has a lot of heart, and as they grow together will become stronger.  The Timbermen are in a major rebuild, as they lost fourteen players to the new PBLA league, which explains the lopsided losses in most of their games.  This past weekend, the woes continued as they ran into a red hot Oshawa Outlaws team, resulting in a 12-2 loss.
