Arena Lacrosse League East Power Rankings - Week Nine

The Arena Lacrosse League East Power Rankings after Week Nine:
1. Whitby Steelhawks (6-3) ⬆️ 3
Winners of five in a row, the Whitby Steelhawks are hot! This team stood toe to toe with the defending champs, and handed them a solid 8-6 loss. Ethan Harwood was spectacular in net, holding a very explosive offense to just six goals. They have definitely put the league on notice that they are ready to make a play for the Championship.
2. Brampton Express (6-2) ⬇️1
While one game doesn’t make or break a season, this is one game the Express should pay attention to. All season this team has been the class of the league, but Whitby made everyone take notice. Brampton needs to build off this minor set back, and ramp up the intensity if they hope to repeat.
3. Toronto Monarchs (6-3) ⬇️1
The Monarchs are also on a three game win streak. Jordan Dance has been nothing short of sensational, leading Toronto past the Timbermen last weekend with five goals. The Monarchs have a real chance to win this year, but will need everyone firing on all cylinders to be successful.
4. Peterborough Timbermen (5-4) ⬇️1
While Peterborough has played well overall, two recent losses to the Toronto Monarchs have brought them down a couple of spaces in the rankings. Aaron Woods continues to have a good season, but the Timbermen will need more secondary scoring if they want to be in the conversation this playoff season.
5. Oshawa Outlaws (3-6) ⬆️2
Quietly the Outlaws have been making their way up the rankings the last few weeks. John St. John has been the leader all season, and with help from Zach Terry and Jake Gilmour, Oshawa has shown more offense recently. Luke Laskiewicz has also been a big spark plug whether scoring or facilitating. The Outlaws could play a big factor in this year's playoffs.
6. Six Nations Snipers (3-5) ⬆️2
This team showed once again they have the character to overcome deficits and take control of games. With a few minutes left in the third quarter Thunder Hill, Wes Whitlow, and Cheyton King led the Snipers, taking a 10-8 deficit, turning it into a 16-14 victory. When this team is clicking, it is as dangerous as any in the league.
7. Ohsweken Bears (3-5) ⬇️2
For three quarters the Bears looked to be heading for victory. However, a defensive let down in the fourth quarter yeilded seven goals, letting the game slip away. Layne Smith and Shane Halliwell had strong days, but the team will need a full sixty minutes from everyone if they hope to go deep in the playoffs.
8. Paris RiverWolves (2-6) ⬇️2
A see-saw battle with Oshawa saw the teams tied six times before the Outlaws mounted a nine goal run to take charge of the game in the second half. Once again a short bench had a lot to do with the breakdown. The good news is the offense got production from eight different scorers. There is plenty of talent on this team, and with a full cast, an upset in the upcoming playoffs is not out of the question.
