Arena Lacrosse League East Power Rankings - Week Eight

The Arena Lacrosse League East Power Rankings after Week Eight:
1. Brampton Express (6-1) ---
The Express had a bit of a scare this week as Oshawa pushed them to their limits. Curtis Ward scored in overtime to keep their winning streak alive at five games. A game like this will help keep them grounded. They are still the team to beat this year.
2. Toronto Monarchs (5-3) ---
A slow start had this team down 4-0 after one quarter against the Paris RiverWolves. Paris rebounded in the second quarter with a ten goal outburst to get back in the lead. The ending was tense as well, with Paris coming back from a 14-10 deficit to tie the game with just 0:45 seconds left. Jordan Dance was the hero for the Monarchs with just 0:25 seconds remaining for another character victory.
3. Peterborough Timbermen (5-3) ---
Although the Timbermen got off to a slow start, a strong second half had them scoring eleven times bringing them to victory. Zach Thompson and Aaron Woods led this talented offensive group. If the defense can tighten up a bit, this will be a dangerous group in the playoffs.
4. Whitby Steelhawks (5-3) ---
Although it wasn't pretty, Whitby has now won their fourth game in a row. Ryan Schuetzkowski was sensational in net, keeping Whitby in the game all evening. The playmaking of Parker Pipher has also been invaluable throughout their winning streak.
5. Ohsweken Bears (3-4) ---
The Bears have played well enough to win, but have had trouble putting together a full sixty minutes. Led by Shane Halliwell, Eddie Renaud, Xander De La Ronde, and Steven Portelli, this team can easily turn it on and make noise in the playoffs.
6. Paris RiverWolves (2-5) ---
A tough task this past week trying to knock off the Toronto Monarchs. A great start getting out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter, however the second quarter was their undoing. To be successful in the playoffs, the RiverWolves can't have quarters in which they give up ten goals. If the defense can hold up, this team has enough talent to go deep.
7. Oshawa Outlaws (2-6) ⬆️1
The Outlaws team that played this past weekend was good enough to pull off the upset. Another slow start however, had them playing from behind again. Oshawa showed how well they can compete by putting together three very solid quarters, sending this game to overtime. If they can get a full sixty minutes under their belt, they can easily be in the conversation when playoffs begin.
8. Six Nations Snipers (2-5) ⬇️1
The Snipers played well enough to win, but for a hot goalie on the Whitby side. Dusty Hill was superb in net for the Snipers as well. While Six Nations Is getting production from numerous players, their main stars will need to step up their production if they want to go deep in the playoffs.
