League East Power Rankings - Week 15

1. Whitby Steelhawks (13-1)

The team has been a powerhouse all season.  Playing like a well oiled machine, they now head into their most important games of the year.  If they are able to keep their focus, a championship is definitely a possibility.

2. Brampton Express (8-6)

Although Whitby snapped their winning streak, this game was another good showing by the Express.  But for a few minutes in the second quarter, Brampton was able to go toe to toe with the top team in the league.  They start their playoff push Friday night at home against Peterborough.

3.  Toronto Monarchs (7-7)

This team proved once again they can score a multitude of goals, putting up 21 this past weekend.  77 goals in their last five games translates to just over 15 per game.  Craig Wende in net, and the Monarchs defense have been strong.  Don't count this team out in the playoffs.

4. Oshawa Outlaws (8-6)

This is a strong team, but three straight losses have dropped them down in the rankings. This past week was another slow start, which left them chasing Toronto all game.  If they can get off to a fast start, they can make noise in the playoffs.

5. Six Nations Snipers (5-9)

Although it took a while to get their first win, four wins in their last six games has them playing with confidence.  The Snipers have scored 97 goals in those games, averaging 16 per game.  If their defense can hold up, never say never.

6. Paris RiverWolves (7-7)

A rough loss to Six Nations has them sitting in sixth in the rankings.  The loss was their fourth in a row.  When they have a full lineup, they are every bit as strong as the top teams in the league.  Let's hope they have a full lineup next Sunday when their playoff run begins.

7. Ohsweken Bears (3-11)

After suffering ten straight losses, they finally got the monkey off their backs with a solid victory last week.  If they are going to advance in the playoffs, they will need big games from Lucas Beaver and Eddie Renaud.

8. Peterborough Timbermen (5-9)

This team has had a rough couple of months.  Dropping their last seven games is not ideal heading into the playoffs.  They face Brampton Friday night in the first round of the playoffs.  The team has the talent, can they put it together for an upset win.
