Arena Lacrosse League East Game Recaps - Week Six


The Arena Lacrosse League East continued their 2025-2026 season with four big match-ups in week six. 

Friday Night at the Childrens Arena in Oshawa, Ontario 

Toronto Monarchs 12  Oshawa Outlaws 19

Of note, the Monarchs were missing 3 of their top 5 scorers in this game.

The game was tied 1-1 for the majority of the first quarter until the last few minutes when Oshawa blew it open with three goals in 1:28 led by John St. John with a pair.  

The Monarchs got rolling with 0:50 seconds left in the first quarter, and continued the momentum into the second with three more to take a one goal lead. The Outlaws would stop the run and take control of the game later in the quarter with Luke Laskiewicz, Braydon Hickey, and Josh Gilray all finding the net to take a 7-5 lead to the dressing room. 

Patrick Thomson wasted no time in the third quarter scoring for the Monarchs just 0:05 seconds in, but Oshawa would take over from there.  Led by Josh Gilray and John St. John, the Outlaws would score five of the next six goals to take a commanding 12-7 lead after three.

The teams traded goals for the first part of the fourth quarter bringing the score to 15-10 in favor of the Outlaws.  Oshawa would then erupt for four goals in 3:11 to all but seal the fate of the game late in the frame.

The Monarchs made a final push with Liam Aston and Jayson Crawford scoring late, but it was too little too late as the Outlaws win Convincingly 19-12.

John St. John (6g,5a) led the way for Oshawa, with help from Josh Gilray (3g,2a), and Zach Terry (3g,2a). Luke Laskiewicz (1g,6a) was the facilitator. 

Patrick Thomson (3g,0a), Tanner Buck (2g,1a), and Liam Aston (2g,1a) led the way for Toronto.

Saturday at the Childrens Arena in Oshawa, Ontario:

Early Game

Ohsweken Bears 8  Whitby Steelhawks 21

For ten minutes of the first quarter these teams went toe to toe coming out with a 3-3 tie.  Whitby then erupted for four goals in four minutes to take a 7-3 lead after one.  Curtis Conley led the charge for the Steelhawks in the second quarter with a pair of goals including a shorthanded marker to increase Whitby's lead to 11-5 at the half.  

It didn't get any more pleasant for the Bears in the second half.  The third quarter saw the Steelhawks rhyme off another seven goals in the frame.  Liam Osborne and Devin Pipher led the way for Whitby, who took an 18-7 lead to the fourth quarter.  

While the Whitby special teams unit was already productive, scoring three power-play goals, and one shorthanded marker in the game, three more power-play goals came in the fourth.  Led by a pair from Jonah Kerr, the Steelhawks would finish with a convincing 21-8 victory. 

Liam Osborne (4g,4a), Curtis Conley (3g,2a), Jonah Kerr (3g,3a), Owen Orpana (2g,4a), and Nate Woods (2g,0a) led the way for Whitby.  Parker Pipher (1g,10a) and Devin Pipher (3g,7a) were the facilitators. 

Shane Halliwell (2g,1a) and Jon Parry-Smith (2g,0a) led the charge for Ohsweken.

Late Game 

Six Nations Snipers 10  Peterborough Timbermen 18

Six Nations got off to a good start leading 5-1 11:24 into the game.  Jordan Goddard and Wes Whitlow led the way for the Snipers.  Peterborough got on track in the last few minutes scoring twice.  Angus Rawding and Geoff McNulty scored 0:18 seconds apart to change the momentum of the game. 

After Briley Maxwell gave the Snipers a three goal lead to start the second quarter, the Timbermen rhymed off five goals.  Led by a hat-trick from Aaron Woods, Peterborough took an 8-6 lead.  Brine Maxwell brought Six Nations within one with a blast at 9:27, but Woods' fourth of the quarter had Peterborough up by two again at the half.

A very evenly played third quarter had this anyone's game, with the Timbermen holding a 12-9 lead heading to the fourth quarter.  Peterborough took over control of the game in the fourth outscoring the Snipers 6-1 in the frame.  Aaron Woods added another two goals to his total for a dominant 18-10 victory.

Aaron Woods (6g,2a), and Austin Lamoureux (4g,3a) led the way for Peterborough, with scoring coming from ten separate scorers. 

Jeremy Bomberry (2g,2a), Briley Maxwell (2g,1a), and Stone Jacobs (2g,0a) led the way for Six Nations.   Jordan Goddard (1g,6a) was the facilitator.

Sunday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Haggersville, Ontario:

Brampton Express 14  Paris RiverWolves 11

Brampton started the game strong getting out to a 3-0 lead.  Cooper Jackson, Liam Keane, and Curtis Ward scored 2:15 apart to stake the Express to the early lead.   Paris fought back throughout the quarter being rewarded with a pair of tallies making this a one goal game after one.  Brampton pushed hard in the second quarter with five separate scorers to take control of the game.  The Express led 8-3 at the half.  

Whatever was said in the RiverWolves dressing room resonated with the team.  Paris scored five times in the quarter, led by a hat-trick from Andy Campbell to get within two after three quarters.  Campbell scored again to start the fourth, bringing Paris within one, but goals from Andrew Hoarsely unassisted, followed by a shorty from Max Brook gave the Express a little breathing room.  Koichi Nakamura brought the RiverWolves a little closer, but Curtis Ward answered with just 3:19 remaining.  Deeland Martin again got one for Paris, but an empty net goal from Colin Matthews sealed the deal.  Brampton held on for a 14-11 victory.

Curtis Ward (4g,3a), and Tye Ingram (2g,0a) led the way for Brampton.   Altogether the Express had ten separate scorers in the game. 

Andy Campbell (5g,1a), Deeland Martin (2g,2a), and Matt Lebute (2g,1a) led the way for Paris, with Koichi Nakamura (1g,3a), and Graham Bergsma (0g,3a) as the facilitators.
