Arena Lacrosse League East Game Recaps - Week Five

The Arena Lacrosse League East continued their 2025-2026 season with four big match-ups in week five.

Friday Night at the Memorial Arena in Brampton, Ontario

Peterborough Timbermen 8 Brampton Express 17

A tight first quarter saw the teams tied for a majority of the frame until Gage Board gave the Express the lead potting a shorthanded goal.  Four more goals from Brampton to start the second had them up 7-2 midway through the frame.  The Timbermen fought back with a pair of goals, but late goals from Pent Eistrat and Jake McNabb had Brampton up 9-4 at the half.

The third quarter was more like the first quarter.   Both defenses stood out, keeping each other to a pair of tallies.  However, after Peterborough brought the game within three to start the fourth, Brampton took over.  Six unanswered goals, led by James Whiteford, gave the Express the 17-8 victory.

Of note, Aaron Woods, Peterborough's leading scorer, was not in the lineup for this game.

Curtis Ward (2g,5a), Jake McNabb (4g,3a), and Zach Sunderland (2g,5a) led the Express, with Pent Eistrat (1g,5a) as the facilitator.

Late Game

Whitby Steelhawks 13  Six Nations Snipers 9

It looked like the Six Nations Snipers were going to run away with the game getting out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter.   However, a strong second quarter from Whitby had this just a two goal lead at the half.

Jerry Staats increased the Snipers lead early in the third quarter, but the Steelhawks would get on track with three unanswered goals to tie the game midway through the third quarter.   While Jordan Goddard would give Six Nations another lead, a four goal run by Whitby had them firmly in front midway into the fourth.   The Snipers kept pressing with Chayton King scoring, but Quinn Hyland and Parker Pipher replied for Whitby.  King would score once more, but Ben Kromer would put an exclamation point on the game with a shorthanded marker for the Steelhawks late in the fourth.  The Steelhawks win 14-10.
