Arena Lacrosse League East Game Recaps - Week Eleven

The Arena Lacrosse League East continued their 2025-2026 season with five big match-ups in week eleven.
Friday Night at the Memorial Arena in Brampton, Ontario
Paris RiverWolves 10 Brampton Express 22
Brampton started fast and never looked back in this Friday night affair. The Express would show how powerful they were getting on three, and six goal runs led by Jake McNabb. Brampton would take a daunting 12-5 lead to the dressing room at the half.
The Express was even more dominant in the second half, getting on an eight goal run, this time led by Jeremy Searle. While two goals were on the power-play, more impressively, two goals were also shorthanded. One of the bright lights for the RiverWolves was the play of Kaz Nizielski, scoring twice in transition. While Paris put together a good run in the last six minutes, scoring four of the last five goals. However, it was not enough to dig out of the hole they put themselves in. Brampton would come away with a dominant 22-10 win.
Curtis Ward (4g,5a), Jeremy Searle (5g,4a), and James Whiteford (3g,3a), led the way for Brampton. Jake McNabb (3g,7a), and Pent Eistrat (1g,5a) were the facilitators.
For the RiverWolves, Dylan Gillespie (2g,2a), Tye Argent (3g,0a), Andy Campbell (2g,1a), Kaz Nizielski (2g,0a), and Cam Mancini (1g,0a) were the scorers. Graham Bergsma (0g,4a) was the facilitator.

Saturday at the Childrens Arena in Oshawa, Ontario:
Early Game
Peterborough Timbermen 10 Whitby Steelhawks 18
A fiesty first half saw Peterborough get out to an early 1-0 lead on an Aaron Woods goal, but the Steelhawks would rhyme off the next four led by Owen Orpana, as well as Devin & Parker Pipher. Cam Milligan would stop the run getting the Timbermen back in the game. Peterborough kept the pressure in the second matching the Whitby energy throughout most of the quarter. The Steelhawks would keep coming. Led by Owen Orpana, and Landon Sinfield, Whitby opened an 8-4 lead at the half.
The Steelhawks jumped on the Timbermen early in the second half with four goals in the first five minutes of the third quarter. Peterborough was getting opportunities, but Ethan Harwood had the answer for most of the game in the Steelhawks net. The Timbermen stopped the run with Nolan Downey scoring, but Devin Pipher and Quinn Hyland would get Whitby back on track late in the quarter. Geoff McNulty scored with just 5.6 seconds left in the quarter for the Timbermen, making the score 14-6 heading to the fourth.
The fourth quarter saw the Timbermen try to get back in the game, but a strong Whitby defense kept them at a distance. The Steelhawks took advantage of chances afforded to them with Landon Sinfield, and Owen Orpana doing the damage. Whitby would take a few late penalties, with the Timbermen taking full advantage. Joey Gasperetti, Geoff McNulty, Austin Lamoureux, and Cam Milligan would score, but it would be too little too late. Whitby wins handily 18-10.
Owen Orpana (8g,2a) led the Steelhawks, with help from Landon Sinfield (3g,4a). Parker Pipher (2g,7a), & Devin Pipher (2g,5a) were the facilitators.
For the Timbermen, Cam Milligan (2g,4a), Aaron Woods (2g,3a), Geoff McNulty (3g,2a), Riley Morgan (1g,0a), Joey Gasperetti (1g,0a), & Nolan Downey (1g,0a) were the scorers.

Late Game
Ohsweken Bears 15 Oshawa Outlaws 9
In a game that had major implications to the playoff picture, the Oshawa Outlaws and the Ohsweken Bears faced each other in the late game Saturday night.
A very evenly played game had the Outlaws take an early lead, only to have a shorthanded goal by Ohsweken tie it midway through the quarter. Mitch Geoffroy gave Oshawa the lead once more with an outside shot, but Lucas Beaver scored two late goals to give the Bears the lead after one quarter. Eddie Renaud and Nick D'amico increased the Ohsweken lead quickly into the second quarter. Zach Terry got the Outlaws within two while shorthanded, but on a two man advantage Xander De La Ronde would give Ohsweken a three goal lead once agian. Josh Toguri and Jake Gilmour answered for the Outlaws to bring this to a one goal game. Patrick Timothee gave the Bears a two lead going coast to coast, but a buzzer beater by Gareth Haigh sent this to the break just a one goal game.
The second half saw the Bears get more control of the pace of the game. A four goal run had Ohsweken up 11-6 until the final seconds of the quarter where Zach Terry was able to stop the run. The fourth quarter saw back and forth, end to end action. The teams traded goals twice led by Xander De La Ronde for the Bears and Zach Terry for Oshawa. Ohsweken was able to hold on for a convincing 15-9 victory.
For Ohsweken, Eddie Renaud (2g,5a), Xander De La Ronde (4g,2a), Steven Portelli (2g,4a), and Patrick Timothee (2g,1a) led the scoring.
For Oshawa, Zach Terry (3g,0a) led the way, with six different players with singles.

Sunday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Haggersville, Ontario:
Early Game
Paris RiverWolves 13 Ohsweken Bears 17
An evenly played first quarter had Ohsweken up by one goal. Where the game took a turn was in the second quarter. Layne Smith put the Bears on his shoulders, scoring five consecutive markers en route to an eight goal quarter, breaking the game wide open. Ohsweken had a 13-4 lead at the half.
Whatever was said in the RiverWolves dressing room resonated with them in a big way. Paris stormed back with eight of their own in the third. Led by Tye Argent, Kaymon Diabo, and Deeland Martin the RiverWolves brought the game back to just one goal heading to the fourth quarter.
Layne Smith led the way once again for Ohsweken with a pair of fourth quarter tallies to lead them to a 17-14 victory.

Late Game
Toronto Monarchs 10 Six Nations Snipers 17
The Monarchs started well, getting out to a 4-2 lead in the first quarter. Led by Tanner Buck, Toronto looked to be in control as the frame wore on. The Snipers came to life in the second quarter scoring seven times led by Briley Maxwell, and Thunder Hill. Six Nations took a 9-7 lead to the half.
The second half had the Snipers keep up the pressure. Led by Chayton King, and Wes Whitlow, Six Nations would score eight times, including four goals in 2:18 in the fourth to take a commanding 17-9 lead. Though Nathan Laycock would score late for Toronto, the Snipers controlled the half en route to a 17-10 win.
Briley Maxwell (3g,2a), Thunder Hill (3g,2a), and Wes Whitlow (3g,a) led the Snipers offense. Jordan Goddard (0g,7a) was the facilitator.
Tanner Buck (3g,1a) led the Monarchs offense, with se en single scorers as well. Cody Innes (1g,3a), and Nathan Laycock (1g,3a) were the facilitators.
