Arena Lacrosse League East Game Recaps - Week Eight

The Arena Lacrosse League East continued their 2025-2026 season with four big match-ups in week eight.
Friday Night at the Memorial Arena in Brampton, Ontario
Brampton Express 12 Oshawa Outlaws 11 in Overtime
The Express got out to a 5-0 lead early in the second quarter led by Pent Eistrat and Jeremy Searle with a pair of goals each. Oshawa fought back with a three goal run still early in the second quarter to get back in the game. Brampton kept pressing with the combination of Eistrat and Searle to take a 7-3 lead, but to the Outlaws credit they kept fighting with Jake Gilmour and Luke Laskiewicz bringing the game within two once again. Curtis Ward added a shorthanded goal late in the half as Brampton took an 8-5 lead to the dressing room.
Whatever was said in the Oshawa dressing room had them raring to go in the third quarter. Three goals, led by John St. John, had this game tied midway through the frame. For the rest of the game the teams matched each other step for step, goal for goal. The Express had the lead late in the game when Luke Laskiewicz tied it with just 0:30 seconds remaining, sending it to overtime.
In the extra period, both teams had opportunities to win the game, but for stellar goaltending on either side. With 5:30 remaining, Curtis Ward converted a Lucas Ferreira feed to send Brampton home victorious 12-11.
For the Express, Pent Eistrat (3g,2a), Curtis Ward (3g,1a), and Jeremy Searle (3g,0a) led the way. Liam Keane (0g,3a), and Mitchell Geoffrey (0g,3a) were the facilitators. Laine Hruska was spectacular in net for the Express, making 62 saces on the day.
Luke Laskiewicz (4g,5a), Jake Gilmour (2g,2a), and Zach Terry (2g,0a) led the way for Oshawa. John St. John (1g,7a), and Josh Gilray (1g,3a) were the facilitators. Jackson Brown had another great outing making 43 saves in the game.

Saturday at the Childrens Arena in Oshawa, Ontario:
Early Game
Six Nations Snipers 9 Whitby Steelhawks 10
A very entertaining game, which saw it tied on six different occasions heading into the fourth quarter. Neither team got ahead by more than two goals throughout the afternoon. Both Ryan Schuetzkowski for Whitby, and Dusty Hill for the Snipers played superb, keeping their teams in the game until the final horn.
Devin Pipher took control in the fourth quarter. Just 0:11 seconds in, Pipher converted a Jonah Kerr pass on the power-play, followed by an even strength blast off an Owen Orpana feed to put Whitby up by two goals at 6:08. The Snipers fought back with Cheyton King finishing a Colton Armitage pass 0:53 seconds later bringing the game within one with half a quarter to go. The goaltenders took over at this point, not letting anything get by them the rest of the day. The Steelhawks held on for the 10-9 victory.
Devin Pipher (2g,2a), and Owen Orpana (2g,1a) led the way for Whitby, who had eight separate goal scorers on the day. Parker Pipher (0g,6a) was the facilitator.
Jordan Goddard (3g,2a), and Cheyton King (2g,1a) led the way for the Snipers, with Wes Whitlow (0g,4a) as the facilitator.

Late Game
Ohsweken Bears 13 Peterborough Timbermen 16
This was a tale of two halfs. The first half had the Ohsweken Bears get out to a 7-5 lead, led by Shane Halliwell and Eddie Renaud scoring a pair each. The Timbermen kept it close led by Nick Bafia with a pair of transition goals.
The third quarter saw Peterborough increase the tempo scoring six times, led by three from Aaron Woods, as well as a pair from Zach Thompson, the Timbermen took an 11-9 lead to the fourth quarter.
The teams traded goals throughout the fourth with the Bears being led by Eddie Renaud with a pair, while Zach Thompson continued his hot game with a pair of his own for Peterborough. The Timbermen held on for a 16-13 victory.
Zach Thompson (3g,4a), Aaron Woods (4g,3a), Hawi Francis (2g,3a), Reece Nugent (2g,0a), and Nick Bafia (2g,0a) led the way for Peterborough.
Shane Halliwell (4g,2a), Eddie Renaud (4g,2a), and Xander De La Ronde (2g,2a) led the way for Ohsweken.

Sunday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Haggersville, Ontario:
Toronto Monarchs 16 Paris RiverWolves 15
Paris got off to a really good start, going up 4-0 on the Monarchs. Led by Graham Bergsma, the RiverWolves took control of the game throughout the first quarter. The second quarter saw the Monarchs get rolling. Toronto was able to rhyme off ten goals in the frame. Led by Ty Jesso with three goals, and Riley Ford with a pair, the Monarchs took charge of the game. At the half Toronto led 10-6.
The RiverWolves got back on track in the third quarter scoring three quick goals with Dylan Gillespie leading the way to get within one. Toronto built up a four goal lead once more in the fourth quarter, but Paris again mounted an attack. Led by Owen Rice, Paris went on to tie the game with just 0:45 seconds left.
With the game almost certainly headed for overtime, Jordan Dance converted a quick pass from Graydon Foulon 0:20 seconds later to give the Monarchs the narrow 16-15 victory.
Riley Ford (3g,3a), Ty Jesso (4g,2a), Cody Innes (2g,3a), Jordan Dance (3g,2a), and Liam Aston (2g,3a) led the way for Toronto.
Owen Rice (5g,2a), and Dylan Gillespie (3g,2a) led the way for Paris, with Graham Bergsma (1g,5a) as the facilitator.
