In a very entertaining game in which the Monarchs never trailed, we were treated to a plethora of scoring.  Every time Toronto mounted an offense, Brampton came up with an answer to keep pace all day.

With the game tied early in the fourth, the Monarchs put together seven of the next nine goals to take charge of the game.  Brampton, to their credit kept clawing and scratching to get back within three, but ran out of time.  Final score was Toronto 23 Brampton 20.

The team's traded goals all afternoon, with Oshawa continually getting out to leads only to have Paris fight back time and time again.   Tied on eight separate occasions, no team got out to a lead of more than three goals.  With only four penalties called all day, the flow was exceptional, showcasing the offensive prowess of either team.

Sunday

At the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville, Ontario

Early Game:

Whitby Steelhawks 15  Ohsweken Bears 11

The trade that sent Steven Portelli and Craig Wende to Ohsweken paid immediate dividends for the Bears on this day.   Up by one heading into the fourth quarter, Ohsweken was poised for the upset of upsets over the Whitby Steelhawks.   However, the defending champions were able to put it into fifth gear outscoring the Bears 6-1 in the fourth to come away with the 15-11 victory.

Craig Wende's experience and savvy made an immediate impact, allowing Ohsweken to concentrate on their offense.  Not to be outdone, Will Johnston was a brick wall in net for Whitby stopping the Bears dead in the fourth quarter.

Brady Kearnan (5g,0a), and Devin Pipher (2g,3a) led the way for Whitby, whose balanced offense saw eight different scorers.

Eddie Renaud (5g,1a) had a monster day for Ohsweken, with help from Steven Portelli (2g,3a).

The second half saw much of the same, with the Snipers getting ahead, and the Timbermen mounting a comeback.   The Snipers outlasted the Timbermen 16-13.  Dusty Hill was exceptional in net for Six Nations especially down the stretch, with a number of big saves.
