ALL East Weekly Recaps - Week 1

The Arena Lacrosse League  East 2024-2025 season opened with three games in week one.

Friday night

At the Brampton Memorial Arena:

Six Nations Snipers 13   Brampton Express 17

A very exciting game to open up the 2024-2025 ALL East season.  This game was tied on seven different occasions until Brampton finally took the lead for good later in the fourth quarter.  

Curtis Ward (3g,3a), Zach Sunderland (5g,3a), and Jake McNabb (3g,4a) led the way for the Express en route to the 17-13 victory.  

Briley Maxwell (3g,2a), Bryson Staats (3g,0a), Avery Steinbach-Parker (3g,4a) and Tye Argent (1g,5a) were the leaders for Six Nations in a losing cause. 

The Three Stars:

1. Jake McNabb - Brampton 
2. Zach Sunderland - Brampton 
3. Avery Steinbach-Parker - Six Nations 

Saturday afternoon

At the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre:

Whitby Steelhawks 16   Toronto Monarchs 8

The defending champion Whitby Steelhawks opened their season against the Toronto Monarchs at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre.  Whitby jumped out to a 6-0 lead midway through the second quarter and never looked back.  Toronto put up a valiant effort the rest of the way, but the hole was too deep to climb out of, losing 16-8.

Brady Kearnan (5g,3a) led the way for Whitby, with Owen Orpana (2g,1a), and Landon Sinfield (2g,0a) also making statements.  Devin Pipher (1g,7a) was the playmaker for the Steelhawks. 

Toronto was led by Riley Ford (3g,1a), with Tanner Buck (1g,3a) as the playmaker.  The Monarchs got production from six different scorers in the game.

2. Lucas Coote  - Whitby
3. Riley Ford  - Toronto 

Saturday night 

At the Brampton Memorial Arena:

Ohsweken Bears 11  Peterborough Timbermen 21

The Peterborough Timbermen jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back.  In a game where special teams played a big part, the Timbermen were able to net three power-play markers, as well as two shorthanded goals.  Ohsweken was equally as potent scoring four power-play goals, and two shorthanded goals.   Peterborough was able to string runs together to grab big advantages, also keeping momentum, en route to a 21-11 victory. 

Cam Milligan (5g,7a) and Jack McAlpine (7g, 2a) led the offensive prowess of the Timbermen, while Zach Thompson (1g,4a) was the Playmaker. 

Josh Sanchez (2g,4a), Eddie Renaud (3g,2a), and Braeden Smith (2g,2a) was the majority of the Bears' offense.

1. Cam Milligan - Peterborough 
2. Jack McAlpine  - Peterborough 
3. Eddie Renaud  - Ohsweken
