ALL East Power Rankings - Week 12

by Gary Groob

A number of changes this week in the Arena Lacrosse League East Power Rankings  - Week 12.

1. Whitby Steelhawks (10-1)

Another stellar performance has thrust the Steelhawks back in the #1 position in the rankings.  Eleven different scorers shows just how potent an offense Whitby has.

2. Brampton Express (8-3)

While the Express didn't win pretty, they did win!  Another solid outing from Dylan Sprentz in net solidified an already stifling defense.  As the offense is going quite well also, this team is showing they will be there at the end.

3. Toronto Monarchs (5-6)

Although a slow start hampered them a bit, the Monarchs controlled the majority of the game.  Joel Watson was superb in net coming up with saves when it mattered.  Tanner Buck, Cody Inness and Parker Pipher had big games this week as well.

4. Six Nations Snipers (5-6)

A complete game victory is just what the doctor ordered.  While scoring sixteen goals is a story in itself, holding the high flying Peterborough Timbermen to just nine goals showed how strong a defense the Snipers can present.

5. Peterborough Timbermen (6-5)

A small blip in an otherwise solid season is nothing to really worry about.  Next week's showdown with the Brampton Express will give a good preview of what's to come in the playoffs.

6. Paris RiverWolves (6-5)

The concerning thing is that the last two games Paris has had a short bench.  If they are going to make noise in the playoffs they will need all hands on deck for the rest of the season.

7. Oshawa Outlaws (4-7)

Another game in which they started strong, but defensive lapses killed them.  Giving up big runs to strong teams is a sure fire way to make an early exit come the playoffs.  On a good note, facing 70 shots, Laine Hruska was exceptional in the Outlaws net.

8. Ohsweken Bears (1-10)

Although this was yet another loss, I do like the character of the team.  The "never say die" attitude almost brought a stunning upset to the Brampton Express.
