ALL East Game Recaps - Week 2

The Arena Lacrosse League East had three games on the docket in week two.

Saturday at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in Oakville, Ontario 

Ohsweken Bears 9  Toronto Monarchs 13

The Monarchs controlled the majority of the first quarter, jumping out to a 3-0 lead.  Ohsweken came back with a pair 0:32 seconds apart at the end to tighten the game up.  As was the case all day, as soon as the Bears would get close, Toronto would get on a run to increase the lead.

The Monarchs defense, and the goaltending of Craig Wende was the difference in the game.  Ohsweken never got more than two goals in a row all game.   The Monarchs prevailed in this game 13-9.

Parker Pipher (3g,3a), Patrick Thomson (4g;0a) and Lucas Ferreira (2g,1a) led the way for Toronto.

Jon Perry-Smith (2g,2a) and Rioux Johnson (2g,2a) led the way for the Bears.

Sunday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena, in Hagersville, Ontario 

Early Game:

Whitby Steelhawks 20  Paris RiverWolves 12

The Paris RiverWolves got off to a great start leading 2-0 after one quarter.  However, Whitby scored four of the next five goals in the second to change the complexion of the game. 

The second half saw the Steelhawks go on four goal runs twice to pull ahead to stay in this game.  Whitby wins 20-12.

Devin Pipher (4g,5a), Brady Kearnan (3g,3a) and Liam Osbourne (3g,2a) led a Whitby offense that saw production from eleven different scorers in the game. 

Kaymen Diabo (4g,1a), Noah Simonelli (2g,4a) and Kurtis Woodland (2g,3a) led the way for a depleted Paris lineup.

Late Game:

Oshawa Outlaws 13   Six Nations Snipers 18

 This game was a see-saw battle most of the  day, with it being tied on six seperate occasions. Although the Snipers were able to grab an 11-7 lead midway through the third quarter, the Outlaws, as they did all day, battled back.

With just five minutes to go in the game, the Outlaws brought the game within one goal.  Six Nations withstood the challenge, scoring five of the next six goals to come away with the 18-13 victory. 

Briley Maxwell (4g,3a) and Jeremy Bomberry (5g,0a) led the way for Six Nations, while John St. John (5g,5a) and Gareth Haigh (3g,3a) led the charge for the Outlaws.
