ALL East Game Recaps - Week 12
As the playoffs approach, another full slate in ALL East action.
Friday at the Children's Arena in Oshawa, Ontario
Toronto Monarchs 16 Oshawa Outlaws 10
A good defensive half played by both teams had Toronto slightly in the lead at the half. Oshawa started strong jumping out to a 2-0 lead but the Monarchs came back with a first half hat-trick by Tanner Buck to gain the 5-3 advantage.
In the second half, again the Outlaws scored first when John St. John converted a Jake Gilmour feed, but then the roof fell in. The Monarchs exploded for eight goals in the third quarter, including a five goal run at the end of the quarter. Tanner Buck continued his big night with another three goals in the quarter for Toronto. Oshawa tried to make a comeback in the fourth quarter led by John St. John and Gareth Haigh but three more goals from the Monarchs iced the game.
Tanner Buck (6g,4a), Cody Inness (4g,0a), and Ty Jesso (3g,1a) led the offense for the Monarchs, with Parker Pipher (2g,7a) as the playmaker.
John St. John (3g,3a), Jake Gilmour (2g,3a), Alec Simons (2g,2a), and Gareth Haigh (2g,0a) led the Outlaws, with Taite Cattoni (1g,3a) as the playmaker.
*Of note in this game, Laine Hruska played sensational facing 70 shots in the Outlaws net, while Joel Watson was equally as superb facing 57 shots for Toronto.

Saturday at the Children's Arena in Oshawa, Ontario
Early Game
Six Nations Snipers 16 Peterborough Timbermen 9
The first quarter was an evenly played affair with the teams matching each other goal for goal. As the first quarter ended the Snipers put together the beginnings of a six goal run that ran almost the entire second quarter.
The second half was more like the first quarter, with defense shining for both sides. Aaron Woods and Cam Milligan tried to bring the Timbermen back, but a natural hat-trick from Thunder Hill quashed that idea. Six Nations put together a complete sixty minute16-9 victory.
Thunder Hill (4g,3a), Wes Whitlow (3g,1a), and Colton Armitage (3g,1a) led the Snipers offense. Ross Hill (0g,5a) and Jaden Patterson (0g,4a) were the playmakers.
Cam Milligan (3g,3a) and Geoff McNulty (2g,2a) led the Timbermen charge in this game.

Late Game
Paris RiverWolves 10 Whitby Steelhawks 23
The RiverWolves, again with a short bench, played a solid first half, jumping out to a 2-0 lead. The Steelhawks fought back with Owen Orpana and Nate Woods leading the way to a 9-5 halftime lead. Though down four goals, the RiverWolves were able to hang tough with Whitby throughout the half.
Whitby showed how dominant they were in the second half however, outscoring Paris 14-4, not letting Paris score at all in the fourth quarter. Even more convincing was that of the fourteen goals, there were nine different scorers in the half. Whitby wins handily 23-10.
Devin Pipher (4g,5a), Liam Aston (3g,5a), Owen Orpana (3g,3a), and Nate Woods (4g,1a) led the way for Whitby, with Landen Sinfield (1g,5a) as the playmaker.
Tye Argent (2g,4a) and Caiden Merritt (5g,1a) led the scoring for Paris, with Kurtis Woodland (1g,4a) as the playmaker.

Sunday at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville, Ontario
Brampton Express 14 Ohsweken Bears 10
In a game where the Express jumped out to a 9-3 lead, the Ohsweken Bears showed they still have a lot of fight in them. Eddie Renaud, and Chris Attwood poured it on trying to get back in the game but a hot Dylan Sprentz was spectacular in the Brampton net, making big stops down the stretch. Jake McNabb scored three of his six goals in the final ten minutes to put this game away for the Express 13-10.
Jake McNabb (6g,2a), Curtis Ward (2g,2a), and Gavin Thibeault (2g,1a) led the Express with Jacob Janke (1g,6a) and Zach Sunderland (1g,4a) as the playmakers.
Chris Attwood (4g,3a) and Eddie Renaud 3g,3a) led Ohsweken's offense in this game.
