Saturday February 29th:

Whitby Steelhawks vs. Peterborough Timbermen at the Millbrook Arena.

The Steelhawks jumped out to a 6-0 lead early, and while the Timbermen mounted a small comeback in the second quarter, the outcome was never in doubt with Whitby winning 16-7.

The Steelhawks were led offensively by Liam Osborne (3g,5a), and Cam Milligan (6g,1a), with Jeff Fernandes (1g,6a), and Dylan Hutchison (2g,4a) being the set up guys.

Lukas Coote was outstanding in net for Whitby only giving up seven goals.

Skkylar Thomas (2g,0a), Vaughn Harris (1g,3a), led the scoring for Peterborough.

Paris RiverWolves vs. Toronto Monarchs at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (TRAC).

In a back and forth matchup, with both teams getting on decent runs, both Toronto and Paris found themselves deadlocked early in the fourth quarter. The Monarchs scored two quick goals (at 2:02, and 2:43), and with the outstanding goaltending of Joel Watson, in net for Toronto, were able to hold on to a 10-9 upset victory over the Paris RiverWolves.

The Monarchs were led by Todd Kozaks (2g,1a), Tyler Ferreira (2g,0a), and Stefan Diachenko (1g,2a), with Graham Bergsma (0g,6a) being the setup man.

Pat Saunders (3g,2a), Josh Medeiros (2g,2a), and Drake Smith (2g,1a) led the offense for Paris.

Sunday March 1st:

St. Catharines Shockwave vs. Six Nations Snipers.

The hottest team in the league right now is the Six Nations Snipers, winning their fifth game in a row with a 16-10 victory over the St. Catharines Shockwave.

The game went back and forth through the first half, with each team matching the other every step of the way.

The Snipers put together a run early in the third quarter, and controlled play the rest of the game.

Rookie Marshall Powless led the way for the Snipers earning the 1st Star with 3g, 3A. Alec Tamas (2g,2a), Tye Argent (2g,2a), Justin Martin (2g,1a), and Jordan Goddard (2g,0a), led the Snipers all with two goals each, while Sid Powless (1g,4a) was the setup man.

Bryan Neufeld (2g,2a), Layne Smith (2g,2a), Cody Menzies (2g,1a), and Anthony Patterson (2g,0a) led the Shockwave offense, each with two goals. Neufeld set the single season scoring record with 85pts besting the previous record of 83 shared by Austin Murphy and John St. John.
