Team Power Rankings - Week 12

by Gary Groob

1.  Whitby Steelhawks (9-2)

Whitby's game was cancelled this week.

2. Six Nations Snipers (5-6)

Six Nations game was cancelled this week.

3. Paris RiverWolves (8-4)

A tough loss in overtime to Peterborough this week, Paris has lost their last two games. A very talented lineup with very good goaltending, this squad should be able to turn it around quickly. If they can keep focused for the entire game, they have a chance to win it all.

4. Peterborough Timbermen (6-6)

Both games this weekend, Peterborough was playing with depleted lineups. A lopsided loss to Oshawa, but a character win in overtime against Paris still has the Timbermen in the middle of the rankings. They need to be disciplined, staying out of the penalty box if they want to be successful. With a full squad, this team has proven it can be dominant.

5. Oshawa Outlaws (5-7)

The Outlaws team that played on Saturday against a depleted Timbermen squad was the team I have been looking for all year. A very disciplined, high octane offense, with strong goaltending, made for a very powerful showing. Consistency is what is needed by Oshawa, can they bring this focus and intensity game in and game out? If they can, they will worry a lot of teams in the league.

6. St. Catharines Shockwave (5-7)

After three losses, the Shockwave got themselves back in the win column, beating a struggling Toronto Monarchs team. A very talented offensive team, but has had trouble defensively most of the season, is the reason this team is lower in the rankings.

7. Toronto Monarchs (3-9)

Another long day losing to the St. Catharines Shockwave, the Monarchs find themselves at the bottom of the rankings this week. The bright spot is their offense is coming alive with Tanner Buck, Stefan Diachenko, and Connor Brown. The part that needs work is their defense, consistently giving up good scoring opportunities.
