Team Power Rankings for Week Nine

by Gary Groob

1.  Whitby Steelhawks (7-2)

Although the Steelhawks lost in a close contest to the Shockwave this week, they have proved themselves to be the team to beat this year.

2. Paris RiverWolves (7-2)

After beating the Steelhawks a week ago, this team came out very flat against the Six Nations Snipers this week. One bad game won't move them, but let's hope this is out of their system now.

3. St. Catharines Shockwave (4-4)

A character win against the league leaders, as well as a few weeks of showing they are definite contenders even with the slow start to this year, has kept the Shockwave in third spot in the rankings.

4. Peterborough Timbermen (5-4)

Getting back in the win column, with a spotlight on the special teams unit who single handedly won this game, keeps the Timbermen in fourth this week.

5. Six Nations Snipers (3-6)

It was only a matter of time for this team to find it's mojo. Convincing wins over Toronto, and Paris this week in back to back games, has this team rocketing up the rankings.

6. Oshawa Outlaws (3-6)

Once again special teams let the Outlaws down. Giving up nine powerplay goals and three shorthanded goals cost them the game this week. Even with that flaw, they only lost by a goal, and should be higher in the standings, and rankings.

7. Toronto Monarchs (2-7)

The Monarchs had a better showing this week, but still another tough day at the office. Improvements are being seen, but need more to move up in the rankings.
