Whitby cling to top spot in ALL Power Rankings

by Gary Groob

1. Whitby Steelhawks (6-0)
Still undefeated, with special teams stepping up this week.

2. Paris RiverWolves (6-1)
The only blemish in their season is a loss to Whitby. A powerhouse in their own right, still on the verge of being number one.

3. Peterborough Timbermen (4-2)
This week showed just how explosive a team the Timbermen can be, putting up a 7-0 lead barely into the second quarter. For them to move to the top tier, they need to put together an entire sixty minute game, once that happens...look out!

4. St. Catharines Shockwave (2-4)
The Shockwave put together a late run against the powerful Paris RiverWolves team, but came up just short in their bid for a "W". Defense has been an issue all season, and should be item one on their agenda to move up in the rankings.

5. Oshawa Outlaws (2-4)
The Outlaws had a much better showing this week giving Whitby all they could handle, getting out to an 8-4 lead. Special teams was troublesome for the Outlaws in this game, giving up six powerplay goals, and three shorties.

6. Toronto Monarchs (2-5)
The Monarchs had a rocky start to their game with Peterborough this past week, getting down 7-0 early. Although they put together a decent second half, digging that big a hole is concerning.

7. Six Nations Snipers (0-6)
The Snipers had the week off.
